Carroll County has a 2025 rule worth noting for land documents. The first page of any land instrument must have a 3-inch top margin. If a document does not meet this rule, it still gets recorded, but the county charges triple the normal recording fee. That is a costly mistake to avoid. Audio recordings of hearings after March 22, 2006 cost $25 per CD per hearing date. Transcripts must be prepared by Willow Transcription, LLC.
